Time for the harvest

[report].de.everyday life.work.[/report]

Hey, while everbody is having fun in Poland, I would like you to see in my first report what I did yesterday Wink.

I live on a farm in Germany and atm its time for harvesting the barley, mainly we dont use it for brewing beer, but for feeding our pigs Smiley

So this is the crop I was talking about, i hope barley is the right name, if not please correct me  Cheesy

The harvester is owned by a regional company, that gains its money in summer by doing this work, and in winter by repairing tractors.

Our tractor, I had to drove around with the hole day for transporting the barley to the silos

The harvester filles up the trailer...

... and it was my fathers turn to bring it away.

I just read in wikipedia that its called combine harvester in english. combine, becouse it also doing harvest as doing the treshing, we in german only say tresher...  This picture I made for you to see how big this machines are, this one has a 5.5 meter head for the cutting work, so its a smaller one, for the wheat we will get one with 7.5 meters.

while working the thresher produces alot of dust, wich is everywhere after a short time, you will get very dirty by it and its typical for the barley dust to be very itchy.

after a short time of work you would be as waerily and dirty as me on this picture Wink , the hardest work is to care about the crops to get into the right silo..   Angry

the sun got down but it wasnt the end of the day, my father, brother and me got into our beds at 2 am after a day with 14 hours of work... I would really like to be with you in Poland !!

So this was my Report, thx for reading, today its raining in germany, so no work to do for me Smiley
