With Rhizom 13 we created successfully a magazine at the university of applied sience, design, which differs heavily from nowadays mainstream.

Rhizom. Thirteen. But what exactly is Rhizom?
First, a magazine project at the university of applied sience, design in muenster, germany. Why a "magazine project"?
Design as an academic discipline is a method of thinking, based on doing (or creating) things. Thinking without doing is theory. Doing without thinking is disoriented.
The features of the design are described different by various theorists, including the establishment of design to other areas of human activity, which are also considered differently on various theories. Mainly they all agree in one point, that design orientates on the human being and develops innovative concepts, systems and objects to exert influence on mankind.
Theories differ not only, wether its a question about the amount of talking about design in reality and everyday life, its also about the question how much responsibility Designers have, while creating, producing and designing.
