[report].na.everyday life.school.[/report]

We made this video during our student exchange project mit der Primary School / Baumgartsbrunn / Namibia this year.

The video suits very much our "introduce yourself" tradition.

We got a lot of help to do it. I will write more about the background of the project later.

I wish we had time to make such videos to all of the students. It really helped to get to know Hendry. I wish I could have get to know all of them better.

We talked to Mr. Hananifa, a school inspector who payed us a visit one day - and he was enthusiastic about the project.

The main feature of the project is that the video is made with the simplest means - and could be (because of how cheap and simple it is) produced by the students and teachers of the Primary School. This would give a "voice" for the students.

Mr. Hananifa would like me to conduct courses for Namibian teachers on this concept. We hope we will find an organization to finance this.

I really like this video! your composition is awesome!  thanks

I watched it with great pleasure and it keeps amazing me how much they want to go to school... if you see the situation here, children see it as something they have to do and as something they don't like.

I really enjoyed this video.  Smiley   I think the “introduce yourself” video blog style is very effective in helping people engage with video on a more personal level. The visuals were well done as well. Really helps to transport you to the setting where it takes place.

I am curious though... what language is he speaking? Again these mini-biography videos are great keep them coming!  thanks

janusz tell us more about the video - with whom did you do it? who translated, edited, spoke the voice?

We produced this video during a school exchange project between the Schillergymnasium / Münster / Germany and the Primary School / Baumgartsbrunn / Namibia.

People who worked on the video were:

The students:

Hendry Adrianus - Primary School
Phillip                - Schiller
Stephan            - Schiller
Torben             - Schiller

Lehrer:

Janusz Hamerski  - Media Trainer / Schiller
Patric (?)           - Khoekhoe Teacher / Primary School
Shella   (?)         - Secretary of the Primary School / Khoekhoe Native
                          Speaker

Hendryk had written the text. We took it neary without any changes. The whole video are just some pictures put around the text. We started the work on the video by asking Hendry to write a sort of a letter to a friend. After this work was done (and translated) we just gathered some video material to it.

I asked Patric to read it. We would have not enough time to train Hendry to read his own text fluently.

The editing did Torben, Phillip and Stephan and me. I cut the last few pictures.

At first we took some nice instrumental music we found on the ipod of Annika Schmidt. There main piece of music was from "Forest Gump".
Later I changed it to the "creative commons" music I found on www.jamendo.com. (the music is licenced for use in such kind of productions)

The filming was made my Torben, Stephan and me.

It is very important to us to get throught with the meaning of the concept of the project: it is cheap and simple to make a video. Please try it on your own.

try again and again. Dobble click on it - this will take you to the oryginal place the video is on display (or go to: www.youtube.com/magauchsein)

And please don't forget to rate and comment the video there. I'm always very happy to see those signs of your attention. And if Hendry ever see his own video I would like him to see that we appreciate his work. It's always a nice thing.

there is a law that you cannot publish any music you don't have the publishing rights for. So if I want to show the video in Internet I have to use music which I either bought the rights for or it is music licensed to use for free (you can find such music on www.jamendo.com)
